There is a rumor going around about a special ranch where the happiest Chocobo come from. Nestled betwixt the Rurror Hillsides and right before Malov’s Crescent lies a hamlet not too far from the forests that the more elusive Chocobo adore and with plenty of fields for them to frolick and chase and grow big and strong.
It wasn’t always the case that this ranch was now for an pedigree in particular but as of late word has spread that its show Chocobo are one of a kind. Chocobo are rarely kept purely as companions due to their scent and their predisposition towards wanting to be free and racing off, but this ranch has a special breed. Many just call them Rurror Chocobo for the hillside ranch they grew on, but due to their perceived lower intelligence some have devised a less polite name for them as well…
On their journey, a small band of adventurers have decided to detour to this ranch in order to get a better view of these beasts. After all, the princess they were looking after was a self-proclaimed Chocobo aficionado! “I just looove Chocobo!” She exclaimed. “I can’t wait to see them!”
“And we are almost there,” Sir Lawrence proclaimed, leading the party onward through the woods. “Once we arrive you will be free to spend all the time you please with them before we resume our quest, you have my word my princess.”
“I just hope we do not spend too long,” said the third person with them. She was a rouge by the name of Mari. She was pale and wore her brown hair short and wavy. Her two companions, Princess Olivia and Sir Lawrence, were tan and hailed from a seaside kingdom known for its giant lobster and fencing. Olivia’s hair was pink and tied in to twin tails were as Sir Lawrence had short black hair made more distinguished by his literal horns sticking out of either side of his head.
Olivia was head over heels for this visit, but Mari was a touch spiteful. She had heard that this place was stuffing its coffers somehow managing to keep a constant kennel of pedigree Chocobos filled to bursting for the various tourists and collectors. Their petting zoo alone was rumored to have fenced enough coin to make Olivia’s old shop she ran look pathetic. She sold salves and potions and couldn’t hope to keep up with the tourist trap!
The party arrived and were greeted by a duo: A stout father with faded blue hair and his grown daughter with a flowing cloud of the same color but a shade brighter. “Hail travellers!” The father waved his arms over his head revealing the Chocobo design adorning his apron. It was just like a typical Chocobo save a bit more buxom. Rurror Chocobo supposedly had more pronounced fronts and larger thighs as well as smaller claws. “And what brings you lot here? A warm bed? Our soup on the stove?”
“Well all that and of course your birds, good sir!” Olivia said, absolutely excited. She ran over and immediately beamed at the apron, recognizing the emblem as the fauna she came here for. The good knight quickly caught up to his energetic princess.
“She is very excited!” He explained.
“Oh, that we can tell!” The daughter said with a patient, measured grin. “Let’s get you all inside. Will you be needing a room with us?”
“That we will,” Lawrence explained. “We intend to spend the night since it will be a long journey come morn to where it is we are headed.”
The party entered inside to a cozy wooded room. The center building was gourd shaped with a wide center bar in the shape of a rounded octagon and a second story balcony circling over the premises to stare down at the patrons as they munched at their cheese and considered their salads in patience. Mari looked to the rafters and eyed the edges of every beam of wood. “So…?” Mari began to speak to try and occupy her mind or else she may take to climbing. “These Bimcobos…”
“Some have taken to calling them that,” The father said with an exhausted tone.
“We prefer to call them by their breed name,” The daughter quickly interjected. Mari had a hard time lifting her brows beyond their bored expression.
She sighed, “Where exactly do they come from? Folks say they only come from here.”
“Well, that’s the unique thing about them!” The daughter said.
“Aye!” The father interjected, plucked from his glum as the pastures turned greener in to his more favored topic. “That’s the odd thing, they just seem to arrive here. We figure they hop the fence to try and eat some of our unique gysahl greens we grow here. By the time we get to them they’ve turned docile and neendn’t any husbandry to be tamed.”
Olivia turned to Mari with the widest smile. See? The smile said. That’s all there is to it! Fairytale simple! That only irritated Mari more. “Special leaves, eh?” Mari turned. Sir Lawrence gave her the look that made it clear she would need to watch her words less the princess get upset. “You’ll have to show those to me as well.”
Of course, they were very willing. The rooms were rented, and baggage retired and soon enough they were out in the fenced in area to observe these famous birds. There was a dark wooded fence surrounding a wide area alongside a barn set up with stalls for the birds to be nested when they are done. The man opened the gate and out came the birds rushing with eagerness.
They moved around happily, kwehing and warking and croning as they were free. One went right up to Olivia and rubbed its head against her. “Sir Lawrence look! This one likes me!”
“Aye, that it does, princess!” Sir Lawrence remarked. “A shame we haven’t a need for companionship, they are precious!” One came near the good sir and pressed for beak scratched. Sir Lawrence was eager and scratched below its chin. “Good bird. Such pristine feathers.”
Mari kept away from them, her nose for business demanding she know. The keepers guided her to a little section in the back. Sure enough, some especially vibrant greenery had sprouted around a small stone Chocobo statue. She looked to the keepers. “Nice statue. You make it?”
“No no,” The man explained. “Was there from the previous owner. We purchased this ranch and staked out trying to remodel it. Sure enough, success found us.” He gave a sure grin as if he had never thought to question his little miracle himself, like a gold panner never wondering where the million gil flake of golden shimmer came from. Miracles were nebulous and that’s why they were always so easily enjoyed. A shame Mari couldn’t envision anything being that simple. A Chocobo brushed its head against her from behind and pushed up against her.
With only her gut reaction to guide, Mari almost swatted the poor thing away, but she stayed her hand when she saw the context was sensitive. She reached a hand out and patted its chest. Very soft feathers…
Olivia undid the complicated buckles on her boots and tossed them aside. Her corset came undone, and the girl fell forward into the nice bed they had rented. Sir Lawrence laughed as soon as he heard the princess snoring. “Either off or on with that gir,” He shook his head. “What a journey it’s been already. Mari, try not to stay up too long. I’m going to head down and speak with the owner. Curious if he knows where we might be able to find some normal Chocobo for some future travelling. Would hate to go on foot for much longer, you know?”
“I know,” She replied, trying to sound normal, not at all where she was. She just… had to know!
When he was gone, Mari opened the window and snuck down the side of the building. The sun was setting and hid her form in the dimming light. The daughter was inside the main building as was the father likely preparing them some dinner. Mari’s belly gurgled from their long travels. She had a bad habit of taking her lunches later and later and hadn’t gotten to today’s ration yet. She would have to get back to it as soon as possible.
Wind flowed through the verdant bushels of growing gysahl. Rarely did this plant grow to be so outstanding and were it so it may have been a garnish if not for the smell. Actually… Mari wasn’t so sure. She knew the smell of gysahl and it reeked nearly as bad as the birds did. Only, these Chocobo smelled pretty decent with only a hint of the Chocobo scent, the more barebones suggestion of the smell, smelling just enough to be smelled. Was the plant the same case?
It would be bothersome if she was caught defacing the garden, but she was sure they wouldn’t miss a little bit of market research. She reached her hand down to the plants and plucked a bushel from the bush. The leaves were thick and grew in loose sewn cabbages. She orbited her face just a bit above the mouth of the plant and took in its scent.
Oddly enough, it smelled very very nice. It was like a fresh salad in quality, that planty scent earthen with heartiness and with that damp crisp smell to it. By smell alone she could tell if she bit down, it’d be deeply satisfyingly crunchy. The thought made her stomach roar all the fiercer. She really needed to get some dinner soon.
An odder question came to mind: the taste. Mari was forced by bullies once to eat gysahl. The scent made her eyes water, and the taste was so bitter it’d fold a cow. She’d know immediately if it tasted bad with just a quick taste, the typical leaves practically exploded in her mouth after all.
She sighed and let a leaf enter her mouth. She bit down. Crisp, tender and divine. She chewed, trying to coax out an offensive particle but the flavor remained subtle and strangely tempting. It was like when you have this extremely specific craving, a flavor that only exists in an incredibly specific dish. Once you finally get to sooth that craving it is just incredibly relaxing and tempting to just keep going. Still, Mari was smart enough not to eat a whole entire clove of the stuff!
Having to be careful, she stashed the rest of the leaves inside her pack and decided it wise to head back to the inn for now. She couldn’t go through the front door since Sir Lawrence was in there galivanting with the plebians. Mari glanced through the window and saw that Sir Lawrence had taken to catching bottles on his saber as they are thrown in the air to prove her is capable fencer.
Mari had left him alone for 9 minutes and he was already making a clown of himself. She sighed, hearing a wark. She blinked and looked off to the side. Sure enough, one of the Chocobo were approaching her. This one looked especially pronounced in the chest region, but she didn’t have time to regard them. The little sound had drawn the daughter to the window. Mari ducked out of the way just as the window was opened.
“Weird, thought I heard a Chocobo close by?” She stuck her head out before noticing the distant Chocobo that had let out the call. “Oh, there you are!” The daughter went outside and the Chocobo immediately began to rise out from their hiding to go be with her. This would be Mari’s only chance to get to the one place that wasn’t utterly nutty.
She climbed up the side of the building and peeked into the bedroom. Olivia was still asleep, snoozing away as loudly as she possibly could muster. Mari sighed, opened the window, and swooped inside. Her feet touched down and she closed the window behind her.
“Yeesh, well that explains how these Bimcobos get so big. The leaves are so damn sugary sweet, the poor things are obese! It figures you’d love them like that, Olivia, your poor cat back at the palace was hefty enough to rival the sacks of flour in the kitchen,” Mari shook her head. She grabbed the leaves from her pack and looked them over.
When she looked back up Olivia was awake. Her eyes were big and beaming, positively sparkling like crystals. Of course, she’d wake up just in time for Mari to be bantering. Those damn eyes… Mari had to admit that they swooned her and she finally had a moment alone.
“Ahem, sorry to wake you princess,” Mari gave a little faux bow.
“How did you get in here?” Olivia replied, rising to her feet, and starting to circle Mari.
“I… climbed back inside?” Mari replied, not exactly sure how much Olivia knew. She must have noticed her climb out the window the first time and was wondering how it was that she made her way back in.
“Shouldn’t you be outsiiiide?” Olivia started to get more excited. Mari could tell by that tone that the spring was pulled back as tight as it would go and any second now Olivia would snap forward into all her energy.
“Outside?” Mari asked.
Olivia launched forward and began petting Mari with a fervor. “You’re sooooo cute! I’m oh so glad you decided to visit me dear!” Olivia nuzzled into Mari’s neck. Mari’s face turned into a deep blossoming blush.
“Olivia?!” Mari said, trying to push away. “What are you doing? Woah, woah, aren’t you going to be betrothed or something at some point?” Mari was against the wall. Olivia followed after her and nuzzled into Mari’s neck as something sprouted to soften her touch.
Olivia’s nose was now nuzzling into a blossoming mane of beautiful pale yellow feathers. “So soft… your feathers are just as nice as the others!”
“W-what do you mean?” Mari looked down to see these feathers sprout out. Her neck itched so bad, but each little orb of itching was immediately satisfied by the feather sprouting. One after another, little pins sprouting and fluffing out into a band of warmth. “I… have feathers? Olivia, can you understand me?”
“So talkative! You must be more eager than the other birds!”
“The OTHER birds?!” Mari replied with sharp urgency. “No, no, this must be a joke! Please, you need to tell me you’re just—” Mari stopped squawking once she saw Olivia lift the gysahl leaves. I’m not… I’m not! Mari was fighting to keep her head on straight. A bead of sweat formed on her forehead as she watched those bushy leaves shiver in Olivia’s hand.
A mischievous grin was immediately beset upon the princess’s face. “You must have tried to come up here to have your dinner in peace. I can get that; I need breaks all the time from my friends too. Here, don’t let me make you nervous.” Olivia reached out with the greens to tempt.
Immediately the scent returned. It was soft and sweet and crisp, like the finest spinach, the crunchiest lettuce, hardiest cabbage, even a hint of kale at its best and most earthen and comforting… Was that the juicy sugary crunch of a carrot haunting her beak—her mouth?! Her mouth! She didn’t want those leaves! She shook her head and looked away, not noticing how her lips were a touch more pronounced.
Had it been anyone else this may have been it, but Olivia was stubborn. This was her fairytale she had been blessed with and to her miracles had these short digestible moments. She walked nearer and pushed temptress greens in Mari’s face again. Her eyes were pleading and desperate.
Mari looked again to the princess. The beautiful, soft, delightful princess, and her plump juicy… Crunch.
Mari snapped out of it and realized she had bitten into the greens. Spit it out! Spit it out! SPIT IT OUT—
She swallowed. The hearty greens were so filling… Her chest pushed out against her roguish attire until the buttons burst and her tits came sloshing out from their protection with only her small clothes now wrapped around them. She had doubled her cup size in mere moments and her rearend was aspiring to similar heights.
A pulsing warmth moved around her thighs. It squeezed and squirmed, leaving goosepimple trails and shivering tension wherever it went. Both of her cheeks were now joined in the warm sensation as the pulsations grew hotter and faster. The heat grew and grew until her pants RIPPED! Tails feathers exploded out from her rear end and her ass grew out so fat that it couldn’t be contained in her shorts any longer! Her rump became so heavy she almost couldn’t stand upright anymore.
It felt… how did it even feel? Mari was struggling to stand upright with all this sudden growth. Her ripped fabric fell around her on to the floor. Olivia kept the remnant greens held up to those growing lips, forming nice and plump into her “beak.”
Mari’s heart was throbbing so hard. She needed to explain to Olivia that she wasn’t a Chocobo! But it was clear she wasn’t going to understand anything she said. Oh! Mari darted away before that devil cabbage tugged her any further down into debauchery.
“Hey, hey, that’s Mari’s stuff! She yells at me when I dig through it, so she’d kill you if she saw you doing this!” Olivia warned her new friend, but Mari knew it was fine to dig through her own stuff! She retrieved Mari’s journal and a pen and showed them both to Olivia.
“See?!” she urged. “I have a journal! And a pen!” She looked around for a writing surface. Damn it, no desk! She’d have to sit down and lay it on her lap. Her thighs were so much bigger they were in equal measures a better and worse writing surface. She put the paper down and put her pen to it.
What would she even write? How would she explain this situation to her friend right now? Her mind was puzzled, trying so hard to think. Thinking… it was so stressful! She wanted to just explode, go back to normal, to how she was before everything got so tense! She pushed the pen down and tried to write something.
In her urgency, the pen slipped from her wing and fell forward. She grumbled and crawled forward. She tried to grab onto the pen except her wings wouldn’t allow her. It was like… she knew she had hands and fingers and little thumbs, but her mind wasn’t letting her understand that anymore. And the more Olivia treated her like she was an animal…
“That was cute!” Olivia said. “You got so far with that pen! Still, Mari would kill me if I let you have at it. That journal isn’t for eating. Here, you should finish your greens!” Olivia came over, swooped up the journal and the pen and pushed the remnant greens into Mari’s face.
Instantly, she scrunched up and tried to muster all the willpower she could to block that scent from her nose. No, she wouldn’t even smell it or look at it this time! There were no greens far as she was concerned. Then she felt a hand at the back of her head. She was being pet. Her tail feathers shook. The petting became firmer, kinder. Mari couldn’t help but shudder.
Her eyes opened. She opened her beak, slurped up the rest of the leaves and crunched happily at them. Crunch crunch crunch… she swallowed the rest of her dinner; finally happy she had gotten to it.
She always took her dinners so late but at least her salad was quite filling. Her breasts grew heavier and heavier, her thighs thicker until they smooshed close and tight. THWOP! Her tits sloshed out of the small clothes and were now free and dangling. She wobbled around the room for a moment.
“Olivia…” Mari bubbled out. “I’m… I shouldn’t eat those anymore. Something about the leaves here… they’re different!” They were so different from the leaves she used to eat back at home! Back then, the bullies who kindly fed her always gave her the most bitter of leaves. They tasted fine but they were repellent in a wholesome way. These leaves were so sugary and delectable… “I’m going to end up like your cat!” Mari tried to explain.
“I can’t understand you, silly, but you’re welcome for the meal! Here, we should get you more!” Olivia reached out and wrapped her arms around the bird. Mari was shocked to find that somehow Olivia was actually stronger than her. The princess manhandled her out the door to the lobby below.
Sir Lawrence was shirtless, down to his boxers, and playing a game of Triple Triad with the man who owned the ranch. One of his cards was on fire. He peered over. “Princess? Did you have a Chocobo in our room?”
“Aye,” Princess Olivia explained. “Are you playing strip Triple Triad with the proprietor and his daughter?”
“Aye,” Sir Lawrence replied. “Losing deeply, I am very poor at Triple Triad.”
“The Chocobo likes me,” Olivia shrugged. “See you when you’re done, I’m going to go get it fed and back in the ranch. If you win, can we keep it?”
“I’ll need to earn back my clothes first, dear Princess. I shall discuss things with the amenable gentleman of this establishment, you focus on righting your wrongs firstly.”
“It isn’t the first time,” the daughter said. “We’ve had Chocobos sneak in the rooms before. Go ahead and take her back to the ranch and we’ll check with her later to make sure she’s healthy and happy.”
Olivia smiled and guided Mari out eagerly to the ranch. It was now dark out properly with the creamy blue moonlight all that there was to guide them. Mari guided Olivia to the brush where the gysahl had grown. Mari was hesitant, but she still felt so hungry. Olivia plucked another head of the stuff and held it near her nose. Mari couldn’t resist as soon as she smelled it.
She took another big bite. As she swallowed her ass grew even bigger and heavier. Her boots exploded off as her feet erupted into proper Chocobo claws. Her thighs grew thicker and were squishing up beneath the rest of her thickened leg. Another bite and her eyes went a touch dimmer and happier. She ate up the rest of the head and swayed her bigger chest for a moment.
Something… had been bothering her. She was nervous something was wrong but now she couldn’t remember! Ugh, it was frustrating. And she couldn’t ask this Princess lady for help. Try as she may, humans and Chocobo just simply didn’t share a tongue. She would try anyways. “Oliivia!” She cooed, but all Olivia heard was “Waaark! Waaark!”
She leaned in and squeezed one of those fat tits and scratched below her neck. Mari came to happy. Her plush and puffy slit was demanding. She rubbed up against the smooth fence and squirmed. Urgh, it was so hard! To! Think!
More leaves was the issue wasn’t it? She remembered missing the flavor of her old greens, maybe she’d be able to get a good meal if she went with these adventurers? She squirmed and rubbed, desperate. She wished she could get Olivia to do to her as the fence was, but she’d gladly settle. Her eyes went cross, and her lips pouted. What a good Chocobo she was.
…
By some luck, Sir Lawrence had managed a powerful comeback and now owned a stake in the ranch as well as his pick of the litter. And Olivia could choose anyone Chocobo she wanted. “I want the one I met with yesterday!” She then pointed to another Chocobo that wasn’t Mari.
Mari thought she had been kidding, but they were serious! They almost got the reigns on that one before Mari rushed forward and shoved her aside. Mari pushed her face in to the reigns and beamed happily.
“Oh my! This one wants to go even more! Well, who I be if not negotiable! A good Princess is always pliable to negotiation.” She leaned forward and kissed her new Chocobo on the forehead.
Happily, Mari replied with a sweet “Kweh!~”
And off they went, riding in to the next day, of course knowing better than to ride their new Bimbocobo since they were not so much for that. Sir Lawrence sighed. “I do wonder where it is that Mari got off to. I know she’s in a habit of sneaking off but all the same…”
“Relaaax!” Olivia said. “I have this weird feeling that she’s close by. She’ll be back soon enough!” Olivia slapped the flank of her bird. Mari’s rear went shaking and quivering. She warked in surprise.
All the while, back at the statue. Something shivered. A shadow laid overtop the statue in otherspace. The Chocobo statue rumbled. And immediately, two more heads of the special greens sprouted. Waiting eagerly for who came next.
